Nachdem die neuesten Linienplanungen der Stadt Mannheim bekannt wurden, haben wir auf der Vogelstang eigene Überlegungen angestellt und weiteren Rat vom übrigen rechten Neckarufer eingeholt, so daß wir eine Gegenkonzeption mit sechs Hauptlinien vertreten und jetzt hier schrittweise aufbauen.
Wir, von der Vogelstang, wollen unsere Verbindung zum Hauptbahnhof behalten und in der Metropolregion Rhein-Neckar endlich ein funktionierendes und performantes Stadtbahnsystem haben!
Vielleicht kommen ja auch interessante Vorschläge von außerhalb der Metropolregion Rhein-Neckar, an die wir vor Betriebsblindheit gar nicht mehr denken....

Gegen den Zwanzigminutentakt an Sonntagen (einheitlich in ganz Mannheim!) haben wir keine Einwände - im Gegenteil: das war seit langem überfällig.
==Prolog==
Was heißt <span style="color:white;background:green">gerade</span> bzw. <span style="color:white;background:red">ungerade</span> Linie?
Wichtige Strecken oder Haltestellen werden von mehreren Linien angefahren, meistens zwei Linien.
Wir benützen diese Systematik, um dafür zu sorgen, daß in solchen Fällen beide Linien zeitlich versetzt fahren, d.h. nicht im Pulk. Wir werden dies "Linienüberlagerung" nennen.
In den meisten Fällen wird man also schon an den Nummern (eine <span style="color:white;background:green">gerade</span>, eine <span style="color:white;background:red">ungerade</span>) sehen, ob und daß es klappt mit den gleichmäßigen Taktlücken.
Wie wir zeigen werden, sind Käfertal und Sellweiden die einzigen Ausnahmen, die einen aufwendigen Formalismus erfordern. Aber es klappt trotzdem mit den Taktlücken, und das ist auch das schöne an unserem Mannheimer Schienennetz!

==Wo mehr und wo weniger Verkehrsaufkommen?==
Zur Zeit wird im Jungbusch (Dalbergstraße usw.) und erst recht an der Neckarpromenade (Fernmeldeturm) oftmals nur heiße Luft spazieren gefahren.
Unbestritten notwendig ist jedoch eine Linie zwischen OPPAU und mindestens Paradeplatz. Man kann sie in Mannheim von jeder Linienüberlagerung freistellen. Wir gehen daher auf diese Linie nicht weiter ein und nummerieren sie auch nicht.

Am schwierigsten wird wohl sicherlich die Änderung der [[OEG]] sein (die ihr zugeordneten Fahrzeuge sollen dies auch bleiben). Durch eine modifizierte Linienführung sollen erreicht werden:
* bessere Anbindung von Arbeitsplätzen in [[Schwetzingerstadt/Oststadt|Mannheim-Ost]]
* Fahrzeit einer Runde über Schriesheim zwei Std. zwanzig bis zwei Std. dreißig Min.
** erhöht werktags mit zwei Std. dreißig Min. die Pünktlichkeit, weil Verspätungen nicht mehr in die nächste Rundfahrt des Zwanzigminutentakts übertragen werden
** paßt sonntags mit zwei Std. zwanzig Min. in den offiziellen Zwanzigminutentakt in Mannheim
Selbstverständlich soll hier abends bei entsprechendem Bedarf auch weiterhin der Dreißigminutentakt möglich bleiben! Dessen Qualität kann, verglichen mit heute, nur besser werden.

Die anderen Linien werden südlich des Paradeplatzes von Ost nach West durchnummeriert und im Süden den nachfragestärksten Strecken zugeteilt. Nach Änderung der OEG bleibt ohne Einschränkung der Allgemeinheit genau eine Möglichkeit.

Wie man sieht, erfüllen sich am Paradeplatz die Linienüberlagerungen

automatisch dadurch, daß je eine <span style="color:white;background:green">gerade</span> und eine <span style="color:white;background:red">ungerade</span> Linie dorthin fährt.
Eine verkehrliche Einschränkung ist dies in keinster Weise, weil ja die gegenüberliegenden Endpunkte der Linien in Mannheim noch nicht festgelegt sind.
==Exkurs==
Dieser Exkurs ist nötig, um die anschließende Argumentation zu verstehen.
Zur Schwachverkehrszeit bilden sich zwei Gruppen von Linien, die abwechselnd am Paradeplatz zusammen treffen. Es werden zwei Fälle unterschieden:
*Züge gleicher Linie begegnen sich am Paradeplatz (wie bisher sonntags morgens)
*Züge ungleicher Linie begegnen sich am Paradeplatz (wegen möglicher Zwangspunkte an anderen Stellen im Netz)
===Fall: Züge gleicher Linie begegnen sich am Paradeplatz===
Etwas einfacher, deswegen zuerst dieser Fall.
Bis jetzt haben wir die Linienüberlagerungen:

* <span style="color:white;background:green">&nbsp;2&nbsp;</span>, <span style="color:white;background:red">&nbsp;3&nbsp;</span> Paradeplatz - Neckarau
* <span style="color:white;background:green">&nbsp;2&nbsp;</span>, <span style="color:white;background:red">&nbsp;5&nbsp;</span> Paradeplatz - Tattersall (Schwetzingerstadt)

Da die Paarungen je eine <span style="color:white;background:green">gerade</span> und eine <span style="color:white;background:red">ungerade</span> Liniennummer enthalten, gibt es für die im Rahmen von Anschlüssen am Paradeplatz anstehende Aufteilung der Linien in zwei Gruppen keinerlei Inkonsistenzen: Eine Gruppe besteht aus den <span style="color:white;background:green">gerade</span>n, die andere aus den <span style="color:white;background:red">ungerade</span>n Linien!
Eine konsequente Weiterführung mit bisherigen Hilfsmitteln würde jetzt ergeben (<span style="color:white;background:green">g = gerade</span>, <span style="color:white;background:red">u = ungerade</span>):
* <span style="color:white;background:red">&nbsp;5&nbsp;</span>, <span style="color:white;background:green">&nbsp;g&nbsp;</span> Paradeplatz - Käfertal
* <span style="color:white;background:green">&nbsp;g&nbsp;</span>, <span style="color:white;background:red">&nbsp;u&nbsp;</span> Paradeplatz - Vogelstang West
* <span style="color:white;background:red">&nbsp;u&nbsp;</span>, <span style="color:white;background:green">&nbsp;g&nbsp;</span> Paradeplatz - Sellweiden
HEDDESHEIM wäre <span style="color:white;background:green">gerade</span>, VOGELSTANG <span style="color:white;background:red">ungerade</span>. Beide Linien müßten über Rosengarten, damit die am [[Universitätsklinikum (Haltestelle)|Universitätsklinikum]] vierte Linie für die Verbindung Sellweiden - Neckartor bleibt. Das würde heißen: Linie <span style="color:white;background:red">&nbsp;1&nbsp;</span> VOGELSTANG - nicht über Hauptbahnhof!

Wir verfolgen dies nicht weiter, sondern gehen zum komplizierteren, aber dafür weitaus sinnvolleren Fall über.
==Fall: Züge ungleicher Linie begegnen sich am Paradeplatz==
Obwohl er anstrengender zu lesen und zu verstehen ist, bevorzugen wir diesen Fall ausdrücklich. Wir müssen gegenüber dem oben geschilderten, geläufigen Fall nur wenig ändern.
Die Einteilung <span style="color:white;background:green">gerade</span>/<span style="color:white;background:red">ungerade</span> ist natürlich auch hier angestrebt: <span style="color:white;background:green">gerade</span> Linie kommt <span style="color:white;background:red">ungerade</span>r Linie entgegen, zeitlich dazwischen passiert das gleiche in umgekehrter Fahrtrichtung.
Wenn eine Linienüberlagerung bereits am Paradeplatz strikt nur nach Norden oder strikt nur nach Süden gilt, gibt es keine Änderungen. Nur bei den gemischten Linienüberlagerungen nordöstlich vom Universitätsklinikum, die durch Schleifenfahrt über verschiedene (nördliche wie südliche) Laufwege vom bzw. zum Paradeplatz entstehen, ist die Situation anders. Käme bei einer solchen Linienüberlagerung die eine beteiligte Linie der anderen beteiligten Linie am Paradeplatz entgegen, so würden beide Linien auf der anvisierten Linienüberlagerungsstrecke gleichzeitig fahren, was <span style="color:white;background:green">gerade</span> nicht gewollt ist. Abhilfe gegenüber dem gewohnten Fall:
*In Käfertal beide Linien <span style="color:white;background:red">ungerade</span>, in Sellweiden beide <span style="color:white;background:green">gerade</span>, oder umgekehrt. Dieses "umgekehrt" geht aber nicht wegen der <span style="color:white;background:red">&nbsp;5&nbsp;</span> (OEG).
*Die drei Linienüberlagerungen nordöstlich des Universitätsklinikums können nur durch die Vergabe erhalten werden: Linien <span style="color:white;background:red">&nbsp;1&nbsp;</span> HEDDESHEIM, <span style="color:white;background:green">&nbsp;6&nbsp;</span> VOGELSTANG, <span style="color:white;background:green">gerade</span> Linie (also <span style="color:white;background:green">&nbsp;2&nbsp;</span> oder <span style="color:white;background:green">&nbsp;4&nbsp;</span>) FEUDENHEIM.
*Also tauschen hier die Linien <span style="color:white;background:red">&nbsp;1&nbsp;</span> und <span style="color:white;background:green">&nbsp;6&nbsp;</span>, so daß die VOGELSTANG wieder ihre Verbindung zum Hauptbahnhof bekommt!

Sehr geehrte Damen und Herren, Sie werden zugeben, daß bis jetzt alles ziemlich deterministisch verlief. Man muß nur den Mut haben, sich darauf einzulassen. Diskussionsmöglichkeiten sehen wir bis hierhin eigentlich weniger - es sei denn, jemand kommt mit einer anderen, wirklich durchschlagenden Idee. Wir warten darauf!
Zum Schluß noch ein paar kosmetische, kleinere Schritte (selbstverständlich sind gerade da auch andere Zuordnungen denkbar):
*Wegen ihrer langen Strecke auf der Pfälzer Seite soll die Linie BAD DÜRKHEIM auf dem rechten Rheinufer möglichst kurz sein und zu möglichst wenig Überlagerungen beitragen: Linie <span style="color:white;background:green">&nbsp;4&nbsp;</span> NECKARSTADT.
*FEUDENHEIM <span style="color:white;background:green">gerade</span>, kann also nur noch Linie <span style="color:white;background:green">&nbsp;2&nbsp;</span> werden.
*Für RHEINGÖNHEIM bleibt die Linie <span style="color:white;background:red">&nbsp;1&nbsp;</span> übrig.
*Willkürlich vergeben, um den Linienknoten am Paradeplatz nachher besser zeichnen zu können: Linie <span style="color:white;background:red">&nbsp;3&nbsp;</span> SANDHOFEN, Linie <span style="color:white;background:green">&nbsp;6&nbsp;</span> SCHÖNAU.
Wir können nicht beurteilen, ob eine Linie über Dalbergstraße umgeleitet werden sollte, und wenn ja, welche, und welche Linie sinnvollerweise am Gewerkschaftshaus hält. Experimente haben ergeben, daß das alles mit der Linie <span style="color:white;background:green">&nbsp;2&nbsp;</span> am besten zu zeichnen wäre. - All dieses hängt wesentlich von der OEG ab, deren Fahrzeit wegen der Rundfahrt exakt hinkommen muß, für die uns aber keine Fahrzeitenrechnung zur Verfügung steht.

Es ist erwiesen, daß bei Einsatz vertretbarer Mittel in der Matrix immer mindestens drei Leerstellen bleiben.
